Samit & Reshma Sharma Graduate Award in Vaccine & Infectious Disease Research

Purpose: This Scholarship is provided to celebrate researchers at Canada’s unique Vaccine & Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO). It is hoped that the award will enhance societal knowledge & practices for preserving our environment & fight infectious diseases with effective vaccines.
Eligibility:* Open to continuing graduate students whose graduate programs have a focus on human & veterinary infectious diseases and/or vaccines.

Applicants must be a:
• Master’s student (thesis or project-based) within the first 24 months of their program.
or
• PhD student within the first 48 months of their program.

Priority given to students pursuing an MSc (thesis-based) or PhD in human & veterinary infectious diseases and/or vaccines.

GPA: 80% minimum.

Selection Criteria: Applicants must submit a reference letter from their research supervisor (maximum one page in length) attesting to the impact of their research.
Applicants must provide evidence of research productivity in the form of at least one refereed publication or conference presentation.

Please note that when a reference’s name and email are entered, the system will generate an email to that reference. The reference will be provided with instructions on how to complete their section. Applicants are responsible for ensuring references complete their section by the deadline. Any reference sections submitted after the deadline will not be considered, and that applicant will be deemed ineligible.
