University of Saskatchewan Graduate Thesis/Dissertation Awards

This award recognizes outstanding excellence and originality in graduate student research. Eligible nominees include both Master’s and PhD students who graduated in the previous fall or who will participate in the upcoming spring convocation. Each department or program may submit one nomination per disciplinary area (see full list below).

The student (nominee) must initiate the nomination using this system. The nominee will be responsible for answering the Supplemental Questions found at the bottom of this page. The nominee will provide the names and email addresses of both their nominator and supervisor. Once submitted, the system will automatically email both individuals with instructions on how to log in and complete their respective components of the nomination package.

The nominator is the Department Head or equivalent. Nominators will need to provide the following:
1) The reasons for the nomination and why the dissertation constitutes a significant piece of original work.
2) A letter from the external examiner that covers the topics found in the External Examiner Nomination Letter Guidelines.
3) The disciplinary area that the student is being nominated for and the reason why the thesis best fits that category. See below for full list.
