Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor's Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic excellence to one student, or split between deserving candidates pursuing graduate level studies at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina.

To be considered for The Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor Scholarship, you must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or protected person;
  2. reside in Saskatchewan for the duration of their graduate or post-graduate studies. Any research involving out-of-province fieldwork is only permitted by maintaining a principal residence in Saskatchewan;
  3. have an undergraduate degree in any discipline (at the time of commencement of the scholarship);
  4. have applied for admission or be enrolled in graduate or post-graduate studies for the upcoming academic year at either the University of Saskatchewan or the University of Regina;
  5. have applied for a thesis or non-thesis (project-based) program. Course-based programs are not eligible.
  • preference will be given to students in fields of study that support Saskatchewan’s Growth Plan and address complex challenges that impact the citizens of Saskatchewan; and
  • preference will be given to applicants who are in the early stage of their degree or have not received other substantial awards, the values of which, are aligned with the national standards of the Tri-Council Canada Graduate Scholarships
