Robert P. Knowles Scholarship
Purpose: Open to entering or current students in a Master’s thesis or PhD program whose research focus is on the breeding improvement of forage, cereal, oilseed and pulse crops for commercial agriculture and whose research proposal includes outdoor field research activity.
- Eligibility:* Students who have completed all their undergraduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan have the option of pursuing postgraduate work at any approved university in Canada or the United States.
GPA – 80% minimum
Selection Criteria: Direct-entry PhD students and transfer PhD students shall not receive funding beyond the 60th month of the start of their program of studies. The start date for a PhD transfer student is when they first register for the 996 courses.
Master’s students shall not receive funding beyond the 36th month of the start of their program of studies.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens and have resided in Canada for a minimum of five years.
Applicants must have graduated with an undergraduate degree from any Canadian university.

- MSc $30,000/year for up to 2.5 years; PhD $35,000/year for up to 4 years; $5,000 travel allowance
